Women Car Rally

Women Car rally is Unique initiative started by Uthaan in 2007. There was no Car rally for womemn at that time and Uthaan being a Woman centric organization took the challenge of organizing it first time in 2007. We started with 28 brave ladies in 2007

Uthaan is a Gurgaon based Non Government Organization which is doing charitable work in fields such as Vermiculture, Organic Cultivation, Herbal planting, Animal welfare, Green movement and Conservation of non-renewable fossil fuels and Women Uplifment



We at Uthaan wish to create awareness and initiate concern amongst people for the critical need of Environment Conservation and Animal Welfare


1. Mining area of Aravalli region: 3 lakh saplings of the JATROPHA plant, which is an alternate for diesel, have been planted on the Faridabad-Sohna belt and Gurgaon-Faridabad belt

2. Preservation of Herbal plants: 3 lakh saplings of the JATROPHA plant, which is an alternate for diesel, have been planted on the Faridabad-Sohna belt and Gurgaon-Faridabad belt

3. The medicinal plant GUGGAL which is used to treat joint pain and cholesterol, has got extinct due to indiscriminate cutting of trees, has been preserved by preparing its propagation material and the samples have been distributed to various schools as well
Other medicinal plants like Buch, Gwar-patha, Reetha, Arjun, Meetha-neem, Sarpgandha, Tulsi, Agave, Beal patra, Bamboo, Saptparni, Gudhal, Peepal, Gudmaar, Champa, Teak, Mint, Poplar, Senjana and may more are being preserved and our kept at our herbal park

4. Introduction of Eco-Guard Club for schools: Some of the major schools parts of this club are DPS, Amity, Ryan, Summer Fields, Chiranjiv Bharti, etc

5. Demonstration of the use of solar energy to the students of member schools

6. Distribution and plantation of herbal plants in member schools

7. Organization of workshops for school students, domestic-helps and housewives for sensitizing them about the need and ways for saving non-renewable sources of energy like petrol, LPG, kerosene

8. Establishment of an Animal Rescue Center at Kotputli in coordination with NHA to treat

9. Treatment of injured animals in emergency cases

Future Action Plans

1. Adoption of Solar Energy Center in Leisure Valley, sector-29, targeting the general public and specifically the students to educate them about the importance of conservation of energy

2. Vermiculture, organic farming, planting and taking care of herbs which are very near to extinction, emphasizing the history, uses and medicinal values of herbal plants

3. Showcasing the uses of solar energy by building up a park run by solar energy. This will serve for the entertainment purpose in addition to spreading awareness

4. Persuading corporates to go to their workplaces on cycle once a fortnight to save fuel, prevent pollution as well as making traveling safer

5. Sensitizing people on animal issues and initiating concern amongst them for cruelty towards animals by the following ways –
» Celebrating Animals Day in October by organizing a conference on animal rights for speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves
» Organizing a dog show
» Organizing a Run or a Cyclothorn
» Organizing talks and workshops in schools on animal issues which would help induce the feelings of love and concern amongst young students for animals
» Introducing ambulances to rescue and help treat the animals injured in hit-and-run cases in Gurgaon
» Also ambulances for the people who have pets but no means to take them to a vet in case of emergency

6. Organizing free vetenary camps

7. Providing for the vaccination of stray dogs
